#About the gig

We are looking for a Lead Instructor for our Porto campus who is passionate about coding, but also passionate about sharing their knowledge with the next generation of web developers.

The Lead Instructor will be responsible for: 

• Overseeing the entire academic experience of the Ironhack bootcamp
• Teaching at campus, full-time (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm)
• Managing Teaching Assistants to support the class’ success
• Facilitating a safe, supportive, and energetic community that welcomes the various needs and learning styles of students
• Challenging students to think strategically as they turn their ideas into web development projects
• Collaborating with Program Managers and Outcomes Managers to ensure that students achieve their professional goals (i.e., job seeking)
• Administering assessment tasks and giving students timely and accurate feedback on learning outcomes
• Preparing lesson plans that are balanced and meet the needs of the group and adjust lesson plans to take account of learning success and difficulties
• Alternating between teaching classroom versus pairs or groups giving clear instructions

#Collaborate with Global Team

• Teach the curriculum designed by our global education team
• Plan the lessons according to bootcamp objectives
• Successfully create new techniques and materials, with advice from colleagues
• Work with the global team in the rollout of new teaching materials
• Effectively lead teaching and learning activities to ensure that students reach the learning outcomes set by the education team

#Community Building

• Create a sense of community and participate in the student experience by joining events
• Facilitate a supportive and energetic community that lasts well beyond the course

# Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the software development world, ideally in Javascript stack; our curriculum is based on Javascript, React and Node.js
• Fluent in English as the classes will be imparted in that language; all in-company communication is in English
• A can-do attitude and initiative to address problems
• Self-awareness of strengths and weaknesses
• Great communication skills and an ability to capture people's attention :)
• Organized, reliable, communicative, and open to feedback
• Experience or the ability to coach others who are involved in the software development community
